METZ “Hail Taxi”

This piece was created during the early days of COVID in New York — with no crew, no stores, and no plan beyond pure emotion. Set on a rooftop and in a makeshift miniature world, the video for Hail Taxi uses analog tricks, an inflatable pool, and a $50 rowboat to tell a story of isolation and longing.

Inspired by the feeling of being stranded in time, the visuals resist literal narrative and lean into subtext. It’s a meditation on stillness, memory, and the strange process of moving forward when the future’s unclear.

Shot for METZ, but made for the moment.
